  Rock solid Cantonese BBQ. Go to place for roast pork and char siu. Good lunch specials, one, two or three meats on rice with some broccoli and sauce for under 10 bucks, delicious chili oil on every table, steam table with some tofu ($1.50 for two monster-sized pieces of braised tofu in soy sauce!) and a few other items. And all that is just the front of the house.
  Full Cantonese-type menu available from the kitchen as well. Excellent take on Cantonese and Szechuan classics like black bean chicken, kung pao chicken, Ma po tofu is the real deal - spicy and savoury, with the little crunchy pickled whatever-they-ares that some places omit.
  Also benefitted from a full refresh a couple years back including reno, new sign and new name to replace the somewhat unfortunate old one.
  Far easier to access and far less chaotic destination in Chinatown East versus similar options in the Dundas/Spadina area. A full five stars.

  Came here for lunch with my family and food wise it's okay.  I did enjoy their green beans with garlic.  Their bbq is okay but they also have combos which is reasonable pricing.

  This place has been my go-to for Chinese BBQ for years. Before their renovation and name change, Kaka lucky has been serving awesome Chinese BBQ. Meat is always tasty and since they are quite busy, their turnover is high which makes the meats always good.
  
  For $6 you can get a takeout box of rice topped with meat and a small side of vegetables.
  
  What I really like is the consistency of their food. Unlike other restaurants in the same category, who are usually hit and miss, Wok And Roast always taste the same.
  
  Since the renovation they have managed to keep the good food but also improve the restaurant. They now take debit/credit cards which is rare for Chinese restaurants in the area. Even their washroom is clean which is VERY rare in Chinese establishments.
  
  Parking is non-existent as only street parking is available.

  Ok. Wok and roast has slowly slipped down the abysmal path of crappy food since the Reno.  We have had numerous bad meals in the last two months.
  
  Today was the worst.  
  
  Braised tofu. $2 - 2 squares. Was made yesterday. Very gritty. Lacked flavour.
  
  2 bbq chicken wings $5.  Yesterdays food as well. Chewy
  
  Cantonese chow menu.  Just horrible. Over stretch. Huge Chunks of chicken & pork.  Chewy squid. Old shrimp. One piece of scallop. Watery not crispy noodle. $12
  
  General Tao chicken. Just horrible. Could have been pork for all I know.  A mess of sweet and sour sauce. And over cooked deep fried  chicken.  $13
  
  Service indifferent.  I feel like they plied  crap on us because we aren't Chinese.
  
  We went at least 3 times a month.  Never going again.  
  
  The east end is done with good Chinese.
  
  The mall court at Gerrard square for 1/2 the price. Is comparable to what we got today.
  
  The owner knows us. And I can't believe she would serve this crap to us. Or anyone else.
  
  Also the Reno was last year. Clean the chandeliers & floors and mirrors.
  
  Since the increase in minimum wage they of course raised prices. But almost 30%. For shittier food.

  I got a couple of rice & meat specials, including sweet & sour pork, soy chicken, roasted pork & BBQ char sui.
  
  There was so much rice & so little meat. So dry. No sauce. So not worth it.
  
  And also the server messed up my order.  And was not helpful at all.
  
  I'm in full agreement with what Sheila said in her review.
